What this site is
Permafrost Wiki is an independent, fan-made guide site for Permafrost, the story-driven frozen survival sandbox developed by SpaceRocket Games and published by Toplitz Productions. We write about the first hours of play, staying warm, food, crafting, base building, the map, co-op and PC performance.
We are not run by, endorsed by or connected to SpaceRocket Games or Toplitz Productions.
How we research
Each guide starts from sources we can link to. Claims are tagged with one of three evidence levels so you can see how solid they are:
- Official — taken from the Steam store page, official Steam announcements, replies from the official forum account, the publisher's news posts or official trailers.
- Official + playtest — an official statement backed up by what players saw in the public playtests and preview.
- Playtest report — something players reported during the pre-launch tests that the team has not confirmed. We say who reported it and when.
If sources disagree, we show both sides. If a value is unknown — such as a price that is not yet live, or a feature that has not been confirmed — we say so instead of guessing.
Early Access means things change
Permafrost enters Early Access on October 9, 2026, and the team plans regular updates. Recipes, numbers and menus seen in the preview build may change. Pages that depend on a build or a date carry that date so you can judge how current they are.
