A Permafrost Steam key should activate the PC game by SpaceRocket Games and Toplitz Productions, Steam App ID 2254990. Before buying, verify the activation platform, region restrictions and included products. Buying directly from the official Steam store adds the game to your library without a separate retail key. This guide does not verify or endorse individual marketplace listings.
Check that it is the right Permafrost
Use the official Steam listing as your reference for the game name, developer and included products. The survival game entered Early Access on October 9, 2026. A soundtrack, cookbook, novel or companion product is not the base game.
- Platform: the offer must explicitly activate on Steam if that is where you want to play.
- Region: check the countries where activation is allowed before payment.
- Product: check for the base game rather than only additional content.
- Delivery: distinguish a product key from an account or gift offer.
- Edition: compare the included items, not only the edition label.
Compare an offer with the official store
Open the live store page for your region and compare its checkout total with the offer. Discounts and taxes can change, so this page does not maintain a fixed cheapest-price claim. The price guide explains the Early Access pricing context.
A cheaper number is only useful if the product activates where you live and includes what you want. Check the seller identity, purchase terms and support route before paying. We have not confirmed marketplace seller authorization for the rising searches seen in Trends, so there are no marketplace affiliate links here.
How to activate a retail Steam key
- Open the Steam desktop client and sign into the account that should own the game.
- Choose Games, then Activate a Product on Steam.
- Follow the prompts and enter the product code exactly as provided.
- Confirm the product name, then check your library for Permafrost.
Steam Support documents the activation process. If Steam reports an invalid, duplicate or region-restricted code, use the purchase receipt and error message when contacting the seller or Steam Support. Do not publish the full code in a forum or send it to a third-party activation site.
What to check before playing
Permafrost is an Early Access game, so review the current system requirements before installing. Our laptop guide and settings guide help you compare your PC with the published requirements. If you plan to play with friends, read the co-op guide before choosing platforms.
A key is an ownership and activation product, not a mod or a multiplayer workaround. For changes to the game, use the separate mods guide. For a first-session plan after installation, start with the beginner guide.
